Brent Buchanan
The founding President of Rhythm & Relief Inc. Brent brings deep roots and long-standing connections within New Brunswick’s music community. A member of the Minto Country Music Wall of Fame, Brent has spent many years closely connected to musicians, performers, events, and the country music scene in the Fredericton area and beyond.
Known to many through his work as a Pure Country radio host, Brent is also a well-established Fredericton business owner and the driving force behind the Fredericton Tattoo Expo. His extensive relationships within the music and entertainment community, combined with his passion for supporting musicians, make him an important part of the foundation and leadership of Rhythm & Relief Inc.
Debbie Roy
The founding Vice- President, Debbie brings a lifelong connection to music and a deep appreciation for New Brunswick’s musical community. A singer, songwriter and performer, Debbie has written, performed and recorded original music and has shared her musical journey publicly, including an appearance on There’s Always a Song with Brent Buchanan, where she performed her original song “Voices of Our Children.” This year she went on a Musical Mission to Kenya, to bring gospel music to the children and parents of the Tabitha Houses.
Her contribution to country music was formally recognized in 2017 when she was inducted into the Minto Country Music Wall of Fame, an honor celebrating her place within the area’s rich musical heritage.
As a founding member of the Rhythm & Relief Inc. leadership team, Debbie brings not only her experience in music, but also a genuine understanding of the musicians and people the organization was created to support.
Allison Hovey
The Founding Treasurer Of Rhythm & Relief, Allison is Fredericton-based drummer whose musical career has taken him well beyond New Brunswick. An accomplished session drummer and instructor, Allison has spent years performing, recording and working alongside other artists.
Among the highlights of his career, Allison has performed at the Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMA). He was invited to perform at a country music festival in Zurich, being invited back to the festival on multiple occasions — an experience that reflects both the caliber of his musicianship and the reach of his career.
With a strong background in live performance, touring and the music industry, Allison brings valuable firsthand knowledge of the realities musicians face. As Treasurer of Rhythm & Relief Inc., his musical experience and connection to the industry are an important part of the organization’s leadership.
